U.S. Rig Count falls again, down 12....

This week’s Baker Hughes rig count shows that U.S. numbers declined by 12, resulting in the total count falling to 886 and marks the fourth straight decline.

Canada decreased compared to last week with a total count of 134, representing a decrease of 13 rigs. Compared to this time last year, its total is down by 86.

Breakdown by region

Of the regions tracked by Baker Hughes, three experienced an increase in rigs this week:

  • Barnett is at 4, up three from last week
  • Haynesville is at 50, up one from last week
  • Williston is at 54, up 3 from last week

On the other hand, six regions experienced a decrease:

  • Cana Woodford is at 39, down 3 from last week.
  • DJ -Niobrara is at 22, down 1 from last week.
  • Eagle Ford is at 66, down one from last week.
  • Marcellus is at 50, down 2 from last week.
  • Permian is at 419, down 8 from last week.
  • Utica is at 12, down 1 from last week.

All other regions saw no net change in the active rig count.
